Spicy Basil “Green” Sauce

*CREATIVE BLURB HERE* We usually like to eat this with the (BROCCOLI RECIPE) and some baked scallops or chicken.

SERVING SIZE: 4-6 DIFFICULTY LEVEL: BEGINNER

PREP TIME: 15 MINUTES COOK TIME: 5 MINUTES

 

INGREDIENTS:

  1. 3 avocados

  2. ½ cup of cilantro 

  3. ½ cup basil

  4. 3 tbs olive oil

  5. 1 garlic clove

  6. 1 jalapeno

  7. 3 scallions

  8. Salt & pepper

  9. Juice of one lime

 

PREP:

  1. Turn broiler on high and place the cooking rack 3-4 inches below.

  2. Cut the roots off of the scallions (bottom inch) and cut the stem off the jalapeño, and then cut lengthwise and remove then seeds.

COOK:

  1. Coat jalapeno and scallion in olive oil (1tbs) before placing under the broiler for 4-5 minutes or until slightly charred.

  2. After roasting, add all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
